How do I Join?

The membership application is located here

What does it cost to Join and ride practices?

The club furnishes the indoor arena (Linn Co. Fair Grounds, Albany, OR) and anywhere from two to three pens of cattle depending on the turn out of riders.

Memberships:

$35.00     Individual Membership
$55.00     Household membership

Practice Nights:

$  6.00     Arena fee per rider.
$10.00     Each team member (2 goes)
$10.00     Mixer team (2 goes)
$15.00     Jackpot team (2 goes)
$  1.00     Chance at Drawpot

You may ride 4 picked teams and 1 drawpot or mixer team. A total of  no more than 5 teams.

You do not have to ride a mixer team.  People who ride a mixer team gets 1 extra point added to their points for the evening.  You may sign up to ride more than 1 mixer.  The teams are to be drawn.  You may ride more times in the mixer if you ride less in the picked teams.

There is also a $10 non member fee that is waived the first time a person comes.

While you can join our club as an individual rider ($35.00/year) it is often more cost
effective to sign up as a family ($55.00/year) in case others in your household get the bug to pen later in the year!

How can I find the Linn Co. Fair Grounds?

3700 Knox Butte Rd Albany, Oregon

Can I come once to try team penning out?...

Absolutely! We recommend that you be familiar with the basic rules first, by downloading and reading them. It's even a good idea to come watch for a night or two so you get an idea of what actually goes on out there with a team of riders and a herd of cows. Another good idea is to come to our Open House or one of our Clinics (usually early in the season). Watch our website for dates and times!

How Are Points Figured?

1 point is given for riding in the mixer (instead of 2 points like last year). You only can get 1 point for the mixer no matter if you ride 1 team in the mixer or all 4 teams in the mixer.

1 point is given for riding in the draw pot.

1 point will be given for each team that pens cows in each division (open, Am and Novice) and a person in their division can only get points for their top place team.  If you get a second place time AND a third place time, you will only get points for your SECOND place team.  Points are based on how many teams pen cows in each division.
